Fi (Case Western 8-year M.D. program) 

Why the family began working with us: 
Fi’s family was referred to us in 10th grade both to prepare for the SAT and to plan and execute her application strategy. Our team quickly identified a better fit with the ACT than the SAT, and migrated her program to the ACT, while simultaneously finding ways to deepen her knowledge and involvement in the study of food as medicine to support her application as a whole. 

Progress of the program:
Throughout Fi's sophomore year, our team helped identify and map a plan for Fi's application. Like so many students, Fi was well-rounded: she loved playing softball, was deeply committed to the pursuit of food as medicine, and was a terrific student. On the other hand, Fi had no illusions of playing softball at the college level, and she had not found ways to distinguish herself with research and further exploration of her passion for medicine. What truly set Fi apart was this unwavering commitment to pursuing medicine through the unique lens of food. And so, we worked together as a team to craft a cohesive application message grounded in highly tailored internships that deepened her exposure to both the foundations and the cutting edge of food-as-medicine. The picture for Fi highlighted her commitment to medicine in a space she found fascinating along with essays that reflected the breadth of her interests, community involvement, and activities. 

Outcome of the program:

Fi was accepted into several undergraduate programs, and she ultimately chose the highly competitive Case Western 8-year medical school program. At the end of her undergraduate career, Fi could decide to graduate after 4 years at Case Western and pursue a degree outside of medicine, she can choose to stay at Case Western and pursue her M.D., or she can decide to take the MCAT and apply to other medical schools. We love the broad range of options that Fi will be able to choose from; our team always supports flexibility for our students.
