The MCAT is one of our top specialties, and we work with students pursuing medical school and special master’s program acceptances. At Xcel, we employ a multi-specialist team model, collaborating with both our students and one another for a streamlined, responsive approach. The volume of material that is likely to be tested on the MCAT can be a challenge, and our team has the expertise to guide our students through the skills in Biology, Psychology, Sociology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and reading comprehension that they need to master. 

The choice between taking the GMAT or the GRE (or sometimes the LSAT) frequently involves a balance between multiple factors of what target schools weigh, what tests those schools will accept, and, of course, the skill distributions of the student vis-à-vis the tests under consideration. Business schools and law schools are increasingly giving equal consideration to the GMAT and GRE, the LSAT and GRE, etc., making these decisions more nuanced for many of our students. Here at Xcel, we help each student to assess how their personal strengths align with the tests that will be considered by competitive graduate degree programs.  

The SAT and ACT, and all of the planning, work, and perseverance that go into building not just the skills but also the mindset for students to score their best, are part of a powerful milestone. Students and families come to us to help navigate the complicated timelines inherent in the competitive processes of test taking, college visits, and completing essays and applications, often simultaneously. We help maintain momentum and healthy approach to the long lead-times that are so often necessary for performing your best on the SAT and ACT.

It is a time of dramatic self-analysis and introspection, and we so often see an incredibly gratifying boost in confidence and of self-worth. 

Like most of the standardized tests, the LSAT has been restructured in recent years. The test now comprises Logical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and Argumentative Writing, and focuses on the evaluation of everyday language. Our goal for our LSAT students is the same as what we have developed in our ACT and SAT programs: the progressive acquisition and honing of skills, and the ongoing diagnostic work of our tutors and advisors to continually tailor our materials and instruction to the evolving skills of the student.
