Kasia is a professional writer and editor, born and raised in New York City. She graduated from Princeton University with a degree in the history of science and minors in global health and ethnography. At Princeton, Kasia was the co-Editor-in-Chief of the Princeton Historical Review, interned at a public health organization in rural South Africa, volunteered for a crisis hotline, and sang in an a cappella group.
While starting up her business ghostwriting in the medtech industry, Kasia began tutoring high school students in writing and fell in love with working with young people as a private creative writing instructor and college admissions advisor.
As a tutor and writing advisor, Kasia brings warmth and curiosity about the stories young people have to tell. With her writing, editing, and comedy background, she is particularly adept at drawing out students’ descriptive anecdotes, helping them find metaphors, and yes, even jokes, that they might not have otherwise been confident to include in their writing. Kasia is known for going the extra mile to help students and families find college- and major-specific details to include in essays, helping students understand how best to frame their stories in response to essay prompts and interview questions, and providing enthusiastic encouragement and mindful critique along the way.
Beyond her Princeton education, Kasia’s writing background is bolstered by her time spent in Catapult’s year-long, competitive, MFA-style novel generator, Pioneer Valley Writers Workshop’s manuscript revision year, and the Second City’s online satire writing program. As an editor, she is a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association and ACES: The Society for Editing. She is also in a long-term, committed relationship with The Chicago Manual of Style, 18th Edition. In her spare time, Kasia is revising a novel and writes a comedic newsletter about medical history and culture. She’s also an avid runner and is training for her second New York City Marathon.
